Liftking Round Slings 6,000kg
Liftking 6,000kg Endless Round Sling, 1m to 6m EWL
The Liftking 6,000kg / 6 tonne endless round sling is a heavy-duty polyester lifting sling suited to steelwork, large plant moves, heavy fabrication and civil engineering lifting operations. With a 6,000kg working load limit and 7:1 factor of safety, it is a practical choice for contractors and riggers working with heavy structural components, machinery and industrial equipment.
This 6 tonne round sling is manufactured from 100% polyester and colour coded brown for quick WLL identification. It provides a soft lifting surface while remaining lighter and more flexible than many steel lifting alternatives. Each sling is manufactured to EN1492-2:2000, certified to TUV and GS standard, and supplied with a certificate of conformity.
Common Uses for a 6 Tonne Round Sling
This 6,000kg endless round sling is suitable for large plant moves, structural steel lifting, heavy machinery handling, fabricated assemblies, civil engineering works and industrial rigging applications. It is ideal where a higher working load limit is required without sacrificing flexibility and ease of handling.
Typical applications include lifting large steel sections, plant components, heavy machinery frames, construction equipment and industrial fabrications. The soft protective sleeve helps reduce surface marking when correctly used with suitable edge protection.
How to Measure an Endless Round Sling
Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.
When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.
Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.
Lifting Hitches and Capacity Guidance
Straight Lift
Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.
Basket Hitch
Can be used for supported lifts where the load is balanced and the sling angle is suitable for the lift.
Choke Hitch
Can reduce the effective lifting capacity. Always check the sling label, hitch factor and lift plan before use.
LOLER Inspection and Safe Use
Under LOLER, round slings are lifting accessories and should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months, unless a written scheme of examination specifies otherwise. A visual inspection should also be carried out before every lift.
Inspect for cuts, tears, abrasion, damaged stitching, heat damage, chemical contamination, illegible labels, exposed core fibres, knots or signs of overloading. Always use suitable edge protection where the sling may contact sharp corners or abrasive surfaces.
