Liftking Round Slings 4,000kg
Liftking 4,000kg Endless Round Sling, 0.5m to 6m EWL
The Liftking 4,000kg / 4 tonne endless round sling is a heavy-duty polyester lifting sling for fabrication, steelwork, construction lifting, machinery handling and plant installation. With a 4,000kg working load limit and 7:1 factor of safety, it offers strong lifting performance while remaining soft, flexible and easy to handle.
This 4 tonne round sling is manufactured from 100% polyester with a protective tubular sleeve around the load-bearing core. The grey colour coding allows fast WLL identification on site, while the endless construction allows the sling to be rotated to help spread wear during use. Each sling is manufactured to EN1492-2:2000, certified to TUV and GS standard, and supplied with a certificate of conformity.
Common Uses for a 4 Tonne Round Sling
This 4,000kg endless round sling is suitable for lifting heavier fabricated components, machinery frames, plant equipment, structural steel and construction materials. It is a practical option for contractors, engineers and site teams that require a higher capacity soft lifting sling.
Typical applications include machinery movement, steelwork lifting, plant installation, workshop handling and industrial site work where load protection is important. The soft polyester sleeve helps reduce marking when used correctly with suitable edge protection.
How to Measure an Endless Round Sling
Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.
When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.
Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.
Lifting Hitches and Capacity Guidance
Straight Lift
Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.
Basket Hitch
Can be used for supported lifts where the load is balanced and the sling angle is suitable.
Choke Hitch
Can reduce lifting capacity. Always confirm the correct capacity using the sling label, hitch factor and lifting plan.
LOLER Inspection and Safe Use
Under LOLER, lifting accessories such as round slings should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months, unless a written examination scheme states otherwise. A pre-use visual inspection should also be completed before every lift.
Inspect for cuts, abrasion, damaged stitching, heat damage, chemical contamination, exposed core fibres, missing labels or signs of overload. Always protect the sling from sharp edges and abrasive contact points.
