Liftking Round Slings 2,000kg

Liftking 2,000kg Endless Round Sling, 0.5m to 6m EWL

The Liftking 2,000kg / 2 tonne endless round sling is a general-purpose polyester lifting sling designed for routine industrial lifting tasks. With a 2,000kg working load limit and 7:1 factor of safety, it provides a reliable soft lifting solution for workshops, construction sites, fabrication companies and maintenance teams.

This 2 tonne round sling is manufactured from 100% polyester with a protective tubular sleeve around the load-bearing core. The green colour coding allows quick WLL identification, while the endless construction gives excellent flexibility when positioning the sling around machinery, fabricated components or general site loads. Each sling is manufactured to EN1492-2:2000, certified to TUV and GS standard, and supplied with a certificate of conformity.

Common Uses for a 2 Tonne Round Sling

This 2,000kg endless round sling is suited to machinery handling, plant maintenance, fabrication work, construction lifting and general workshop use. It is a popular option where load protection and easy handling are important.

Typical applications include lifting machinery, fabricated steelwork, frames, workshop equipment, plant parts and general industrial loads. The soft polyester sleeve helps reduce surface marking when compared with harder lifting equipment such as chain or wire rope.

How to Measure an Endless Round Sling

Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

Effective working length diagram for endless round sling

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.

When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.

Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.

Lifting Hitches and Capacity Guidance

Straight Lift

Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.

Basket Hitch

Can be used where the load is correctly supported and balanced. Always refer to the sling label and load chart.

Choke Hitch

Can reduce the effective lifting capacity. Always check the sling label, hitch factor and lifting plan before use.

LOLER Inspection and Safe Use

Under LOLER, round slings are lifting accessories and should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months, unless a written examination scheme specifies a different interval. A pre-use visual inspection should also be completed before each lift.

Inspect the sling for cuts, abrasion, damaged stitching, chemical contamination, heat damage, exposed load-bearing fibres, pulled yarns, missing labels or signs of overloading. Do not use a damaged sling. Always use suitable edge protection where the load has sharp corners or abrasive contact points.
